Homeschool Changes

Alex is going to public school on Tuesday. Am I crazy? I feel as if am sending him into a pool where he might sink, he might swim, who knows. It’s not as if anything he has learned will help him…necessarily. He might do really well. He might not. With public school - any school - it’s the luck of the draw. It’s like the “Butterfly Effect.” Any one of a million circumstances can impact the rest of his life.
However, homeschooling has come to an end with him. He s ultra-resistant and has a “grass is greener” mentality. That is not going to be shaken until he experiences for himself. I think after one week of homework he will be begging for homeschool. I hope that it is a positive experience for him. I am frightened that it will not be.
One thing I have learned is that I homeschool because school is not only the answer. However, the converse is also true. I homeschool because sometimes formal school is the answer.
